Mary Vrtis is a nurse, sociologist, Reiki Master Teacher, Certified Quantum-Touch® Practitioner and
Editor-in-Chief of Holistic: Harmonizing Pathways to Wholeness (www.holisticjournal.ORG). She is also a NARHA
Instructor in Training and is the President of the Board of Directors for Tranquility Therapeutic Riding Center
which will be opening soon in Front Royal, VA.
Dr. Vrtis has taught Sociology at the college level, taught nursing school and practiced in several fields of
nursing, including administrative positions. She holds a Ph.D. in Sociology/ Nursing from Union Institute, an
M.A. in Sociology from Northeastern Illinois University, a B.S. in Biology from University of Illinois Circle
Campus and an A.D.N. from Morton College.
